Make a Modern Wreath

What You Do

1. Flatten the paper towel tube. Measure one-inch sections using a pencil. Cut all of the sections out, and re-open the shapes into ovals.
2. Place the shapes on the table to get an idea of the shape you want to glue together. Start with a circle in the center and work outwards. Asymmetrical shapes work best with this activity.
3. Using the hot glue gun, carefully attach the sides of the shapes to one another until all pieces are glued in place.
4. Cut thin strips of felt. Slowly roll the felt into a tight ball, gluing as you roll so it holds its form.
5. Glue a few of the felt rolls. Move them around on your wreath to figure out where you want them. Glue them in place.
6. Repeat rolling the felt until you are happy with the composition of your wreath. Try experimenting with different size rolls of felt.
7. Have your child hang her wreath in her bedroom or in a common area, where guests can admire her art skills.
