Create a card that’s out of this world! Your child will love making his very own alien robot using construction paper, colorful foam and sequins. Make the robot feel at home by creating a solar system featuring planets, stars and moons. This outer space adventure will have your child’s imagination zooming throughout time and space!
What You Need:
- Construction paper
- Foam
- Metallic pipe cleaners
- Tempera paint
- Brushes
- Scissors
- Sequins
- Acrylic jewels
- Mini pom-poms
What You Do:
- Show your child how to fold the construction paper in half to create a card.
- He can use tempera paints to create a background of planets, moons, spaceships or comets! Allow to dry.
- Cut out the body and head for the alien robot from foam and glue it in the middle of your card. Squares and rectangles make great body parts.
- Cut two metallic pipe cleaners for the legs, two for the arms and two for the antennae. Bend the arms and legs so they look like they’re wiggling, and glue them down on the card.
- Add one or two sequins to create a neck and cover the body of the alien robot with more sequins. They look great when glued in layers.
- Acrylic jewels are great for piercing eyes.
- Glue two metallic mini pom-poms on the ends of the antennae to make your robot alien pop off the page!
Write an out-of-this-world message on the inside of your card and give it to someone you love!
