Create a wintry seasonal card with a frosty snowman, complete with snow created from a hole-punch. This festive card is sure to warm any heart during the holidays.
What You Need:
- Construction paper, 8.5” x 11” (white, dark blue, brown, orange, gray and light blue)
- Scissors
- Hole-punch
- Pencil
- Glue stick
What You Do:
- Have your child fold the dark blue paper in half. Place it flat and vertical on a table as the base of your card.
- Draw three circles on the white paper, each bigger than the next. The smallest one is the snowman’s head, then his middle and finally, the largest circle is his bottom half. Cut out each circle and set them aside.
- Draw gray circles that fit into the smallest white circle for the eyes. Cut them out and set them aside.
- Draw the carrot nose on orange paper and two branches for arms. Cut them out and set them aside.
- Draw and cut out a snowdrift from the white paper. It should be lower on one side and higher on the other. Glue this down to the bottom half of the dark blue card.
- Draw and cut out out 2 light blue snowdrift shadows. They are thin wavy lines. Glue them onto the snowdrift.
- Help your child glue the large white circle down. Half of it should cover the top of the snowdrift. Then glue the medium circle on top of it, and finally glue the smallest circle for the snowman’s head.
- Glue on the eyes, carrot nose and branch arms.
- Finally, your child will use a hole punch to make circle snowflakes from the white paper. Punch as many as you like and glue them down as you go. Make sure to glue them on top of parts of the snowman so it will look like snow falling all around him.
When he's finished, have your child write a holiday message inside the card and give it to someone he loves!
