In this unit, students will build on their understanding of decimals by working with numbers that include decimals in tenths, hundredths and thousandths place. Adding, subtracting and rounding with decimals will enable them to apply the strategies in new ways and enhance their understanding of the base-ten number system.

Geometry at the preschool level involves identifying shapes and learning positional words. This guided lesson goes over these key concepts and vocabulary words, including top, bottom, up, down, in front of, behind, over, under and next to. In this 5th grade division unit, students will take their understanding to the next level by applying division skills with multi-digit numbers. Students will also begin to explore division with decimals and practice using estimation to check the reasonableness of their answers. Last, students will use their knowledge of the base ten number system to divide decimals by base ten exponents (i.e. .4 ➗ 104).

Learning to add single-digit numbers is a highlight of the kindergarten math curriculum. You can support addition fluency with this guided lesson that takes kindergarteners through an understanding of values. Kids will learn with focused instruction and practice that by putting numbers together, they get a new number. When the lesson is over, kids can continue practicing addition with our accompanying worksheets.

Teach kindergarteners all about the numbers 0 to 10 with this guided lesson which focuses not only on recognizing numbers, but beginning to understand their value. Each exercise aims to illustrate the values behind each number in an engaging way, making early math a fun occasion. If you wish to extend the learning after the lesson is over, check out our accompanying numbers worksheets.
