Snowman Craft

What You Do:

1. Hand your child two or three water balloons.
2. Blow each water balloon up so that they are all different sizes.
3. Tie them off.
4. Allow your child to cut out anywhere between 6- 9 medium strips of string.
5. Instruct your child to fill a disposable cup with just a splash of warm water.
6. Squeeze a fair amount of glue into the same disposable cup, taking care to add in at least twice as much glue as there is water.
7. Have your child stir the glue and water mixture together with a plastic spoon.
8. Take one of the strips of string and dip it into the cup.
9. Allow your child to lay out a sheet of wax paper onto a table. 
10. Find the end of the string and, with your fingers, remove the excess water and glue from the entire length of the string.
11. Wrap the string around the perimeter of one of the balloons, zigging and zagging it up and down in whatever way she’d like. (Note: To ensure it remains secure, feel free to start by tying part of the string around the knot of the balloon and tucking the other end under the string already wrapped around it).
12. Repeat steps 8-11 until all balloons have been wrapped at least twice.
13. Allow to dry for a full day.
14. If desired, repeat steps 8-11 one last time after the first two layers have dried overnight.
15. Once dry, take a needle and carefully pop each of the balloons.
16. Remove the deflated balloons from the inside of your string snowman molds and allow your child to glue the body and head of the snowman together accordingly.
17. Allow your child to decorate her string snowman further with whatever accessories she’d like (buttons, candy, more string, etc.).
